In light of recent references to roid rage and as someone who used to lift weights for a long time, I was wondering, is it possible to actually ever look like this without steriods. I personally don't think its possible, but I could be wrong. After 1 year of working out I felt that I had good results, then I bumped into a guy from school who had worked out the same amount as me, but with steriods. He was HUGE! I was offered links to steriods, but I just heard too many bad things, from poor health to 'shrinkage'.
I wouldn't touch them. The early deaths of WWE athletes is a huge turn off in itself.

Anyway, is it possible to get so big, like the guys below?

The guy I knew won competitions, but i never really saw him again, so I don't know his fate.
Has anyone known people who used them and saw the negative results?
Any stories to share?

At one time Batista was a good looking man. For me he was one of those men that looked better in his Armani suits and shades as part of Evolution than he did in his little speedo as The Animal. A lot of the wrestlers for me are like that, but then again I might just have some screwy tastes Smile.

He wears the suit sometimes. And then he starts to strip Wink Embarassed Very Happy

I watched that video about that guy with the huge muscles....it was quite disgusting and I can't see why anyone would do that...But to each their own, I guess...

It would be nice to have muscles like that to intimidate people with, but aside from that they aren't very practical. Clumsy as I am, I'd probably end up breaking a bunch of furniture and other delicate items. Wouldn't be fun at all...

One substance my bodybuilding friend kept praising to the high heavens was IGF-1 (Insulin Like Growth Factor 1). What I remember, it supposedly boosts up the effects of real roids even more. *shakes his head*

I once saw an advertisement for a pay tv show. The show was "The Man Whose Arms Exploded" (something like that). The guy just kept taking steriods (or other substances - I didn't see it yet) all the time. I found these links for it on youtube.

There are 4 parts. This is the link to the first part and parts 2-4 are in the column to the right. I asume that is all there is to the show, but I could be worng.

This is the guy in the documentary.

Any of your girls find that attractive????? Razz

This guy here has injected some kind of implants into his arms. That's why he has a constant pump going. I don't remember the substance he used, but it's some kind of implant.

Steroids are bad news. They will permanently screw you up and eventually kill you with prolonged use. They are the proverbial quick fix or easy way out.

If you have good genetics, eat clean, supplement correctly and work your butt off at the gym you can approach the physiques of those guys after many years of hard work. Most people don't have those genetics though, myself included.

The natural bodybuilders are the ones that I admire. Steroids are cheating and extremely dangerous. More athletic and they look better I think.

I disagree. Steroids are not always bad news; many people use them responsibly and see results without nasty side effects. As for cheating, well, if steroids are part of the equipment of your game it only levels the playing field. That said, I'm a competitive, world-record-holding powerlifter and have never touched any steroids at all. I don't endorse steroids, but I do condemn much of the negative propaganda against them.

vanland, that's Gregg Valentino. Yes, he's known to have used steroids. However, those arms are the result of Synthol, a mixture of oils injected submuscularly to give a cosmetic boost in the form of muscle size. Eventually the oils are absorbed and metabolized, necessitating more injections.

Quote:
Many bodybuilding observers have argued Valentino likely heavily abused Synthol (which he sells on his website [2]) in addition to steroids, as his biceps often appear soft and balloon-like in photographs, a symptom of muscles that have been injected with oil. The TLC special controversially did not address this matter, though Valentino himself has denied the charge in an interview with t-nation.com while confirming it in an interview with bodybuilding.com.
