People like tossing them around so much as if we are all the same...like the borg

Be it women, Whites, Asians, Canadians, Kiwis, etc., we all eventually hear the "All (fill in the blank) do this or are this..."

So how do you break the mold?

I'll start off with something simple: I'm a woman who HATES shopping. The internet is the greatest invention ever! I can just point and click without having to get into a line, try on crap or deal with crowds of annoying people.

I'm a semi-single, semi-educated Anglo-Canadian male in my semi-early thirties, and I enjoy video games, hockey, dancin', boozin', screwin', music, movies, reminiscing about the halcyon days of yore (which I generally refer to as 'Back in The Day'), and gambling. My French is atrocious.

Why do they always insist I'm a stereotypical Canadian? I'm special, goddamn it. I like a New York hockey team, and I hate 'Rush' and the 'Tragically Hip.'

I'm Canadian, I hate hockey and beer, and I say "about" like an American.

I'm a black woman who likes sci fi.
Women don't like sci fi?
Black women don't like sci fi?
or Blacks don't like sci fi?

Is that a stereotype?

I believe the stereotype is basically geeky guys like sci fi. And no one else. So I do believe you defy the stereotype.

Here's a stereotype I have created about black women, Alyallen. Tell me what you think. Black women like WWE. Your thoughts?

In stark contrast to any other poster on this board, I'm a dumb, late-twenties white guy treading water in a pond of adolescent foreclosure.

Martin Luther King III said the only TV show they were allowed
to watch was Star Trek because it had a black female officer.

Nichelle Nichols said that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. talked
her into taking the role so she could set a good example.

I don't know what to say. I've watched the WWF since I was 2. Went to my first wrestling show as an infant. But who knows if all Black women like wrestling....

Dogshed...I like Star Trek because it's cool. My parents aren't from the U.S. originally so perhaps they didn't see the need to control what I watch to make me focus on some role model on TV. My parents were good enough role models for me Smile Oh and I've only seen Star Trek in syndication...I'm not that old...

this one might get me yelled at hehe.

I'm an American (i'm trying to fix that but canadian application procedures are quite long) i'm not military, i'm not fat, and I can read the korean script.

Which by the way isnt that hard, why do so many people choose not to learn it, hell it makes your restaurant trips way easier.

Oh and I hate baseball, and have never seen an episode of american idol, prison break, or lost.

Did I break any stereotypes yet?
