|
|
I have downloaded a lot of things using Shareaza, and can view the mpg files and avi files with no problem. But when I try to view the downloaded wmv files, I can' (sometimes have audio but no video).
I've tried various codecs, but nothing seems to work. Could it be because my copy of Windows XP is (probably) counterfeit?
Anybody else experienced this problem with viewing wmv files? |

wmv is just Windows Media Video. you should be able to play it in just about anything. Use Windows Media Player for them. I don't know if a pirate XP will cause problems, but I wouldn't think so b/c I have that at work.

sounds like you have a 'codec' problem.
I use GOM Player, you can DL it off the net really easily, it virtually plays any movie file. |

| Download a program called "GSpot Codec Information". Use it to analyze the files you are having problems with and it will tell you whether you have the proper codecs installed or not. If you don't, download them and install them and your problem might be fixed. |
