Hi, I was wondering if anyone has gone to the mud festival in Daecheon beach without booking their room first? We are having difficulties getting a room there... It is the busiest weekend in that area, we are thinking about just showing up with nowhere to stay. Will we be able to fing a motel/hotel, and what will the general price be? Please answer asap!!!!!!!

the cheapest will probably be around 100 or 150 for a basic room..
of course you share the room.. korean style they give you mats and stuff..
of course it will be very DIFFICULT to get a room.. but its possible..
be heaps of walking involved.. got a tent??
they have tent grounds by the beach..
but yeah expensive for rooms.. you are looking at 100-150..
and thats for a MINBAK!! hahahhahaa like I said..
last year we got a room.. 4 of us shared it thing it cost 160..
that was a pension.. and about 10mins from daechan beach.. we had a car..

Yeah, ummm I stayed there a few weeks ago and there was so many hotels along the beach where I stayed, but we didn't need reservations then, do you think any rooms will be available right on the beach? Plus thanks for the reply so fast!!!!!!!!!

Call around and see. When I made reservations 2 weeks ago there were rooms available at every motel. They ranged from 120k to 150k for two people. The room we got was 200k for 10 people. All the places I looked at were right on the beach.

Try typing 보령 모텔 into Naver and be amazed.

You could probably find a pig farm that's closer and free even.

Be like us and join us on the beach. Sounds like it might be an all night party. If you do get a room, can I take a shower in it?

I'm fine with staying out all night or crashing on the beach for an hour, but it is rainy season, and I don't think I will like it all that much in the rain.

Last year we went down and didn't book at room first. Found a hotel for 80,000won a night right on the beach. It was about 20 mins walking from the mud festivities but well worth it for the ac and the water bed. Also there are showering facilities on the beach. 3,000won for a shower and towel (i think). There are lockers to rent for the day/night too so don't worry about your stuff.

I was reading about mud fest in the korea times and it said 32,000 foreigners were there last year Shocked

Are there definitely showers on the beach?
I can't find them on the festival map...

I'm also having problems booking a room, so hoping to just take a cab into the town n crash at a sauna for a coupl'a hours..

But that only works if we can get clean before we leave the beach...
