Maybe we could just give them all crescent badges that say "Muslim." |
But how do we determine who is muslim? Should we kind of follow the nazis' lead and label "muslim" anyone who has at least one muslim grandparent? And what should be our final solution? BJWD surely has a plan... |
That wouldn't make any sense, BB. Islam is a religion, not a race.

That's not so clear cut, Kuros. One of my Israeli friends sometimes refers to what she calls 'Holocaust Jews.' Many so called jews in pre-war Germany did not consider themselves jewish. However, because of their ancestry, the Nazis did. Perhaps it was the Holocaust that has us today viewing jews as a race, rather than a religious group.
Also, muslims in Britain are usually brown. Until recent times, they found themselves on the receiving end of abuse because of their colour, not their religion (hatred of muslims is a more recent trend). But now the association is intertwined, and it does have a racial element. |

And muslims marching against terrorism will have the same effect. None. |

I was going to mimic your 'throwing a bone' thing to make fun of your obvious girth but decided that we don't need you offing yourself just yet.
Anyhoo, about the muzzies.
So, in private they tell you they really actually do want peace but make no public expressions of this. Of course, we are supposed to take your word for it as there aren't any meaningful examples of muslims publicly opposing violence against kuffar. It is all very convenient and I think only the very, very naive would fall for it. No?
Look around you. You are behind the times. Even your bible, the guardian, had this to say:

The space in which to argue that Islam is an essentially benign religion seems to narrow with every passing day. |

It really is time for your to closely evaluate what you believe and why. This is going to get seriously out of control very soon. |

Again you advertise your adolescence and meanness of spirit, saying more about yourself, than either me (big fat BB - haha such wit!) or the nearly 1.5 billion muslims of the world.
I'm sorry, but I refuse to believe that nearly 1.5 billion people are secretly consumed with burning hatred for non-muslims. It's just another of your pornographic fantasies. True, there will be many muslims who share your meanspiritedness, and ugly black heart. Soul brothers of yours. And they are sadly the ones that make the headlines.
I'm done discussing this with you BJWD. I prefer more intelligent and challenging adverseries. |

If you are unable to take it, don't throw it, eh? It is more than pathetic to see someone call names and then cry when names are called back.
I really wish this site had an ignore button, but since it doesn't I'm forced, again, to edamate you.

Note the word "refuse". You have decided and that is that. Fine enough. Next step is for you to go and get the koran. If you are feeling really stirred you can pick up the hadith collections. Give them a read. You will quickly see, as did I, that a central tenant of their "religion" is quite scary. Then, and only then, will you understand why 1.5billion people stay silent when their brothers massacre kuffar.
The reason?
Because it is clearly permissible for the kuffar to be massacred. |

I'm sure that coming from ignorance, and the Nazis were surely ignorant in this regard, there might be some convolutions of race and faith. Islam and those who practice it are different from Judaism and the Jews in not a few ways. Judaism is not explicitly a universal religion, no matter how many synagogues may welcome outsiders into the faith. One cannot read the Old Testament and say confidently, 'Anyone could embrace Judaism.' Islam is explicitly universal, like Christianity.
The problem reminds me not a bit of Arabs themselves. Very few modern-day 'Arabs' are actually racially descended from Arabs. It was a kind of nationalist movement that grew up during the last century. The actual Arabs who spread over the Middle East and up the Maghreb and down into India were very few and became very dispersed. They were overlords, land-holders, and nobles. Islam was an instrument of equality for the many non-Arab peoples, including a great many Turks and Turkomen as well as Armenians and a whole list of lesser known races today, by which these people could advance in society. But whether or not these people are actually Arab matters little to us today, the vast majority of them recognize themselves as one people, as Arabs. In a region like the Middle East, this kind of unified identity is probably a good thing.
But it is essential to make a distinction in religions, not least because 'Arabs' and Persians make an important distinction between Sunni and Shi'a, and even further distinctions between certain sects within that division. |

I agree with you that in theory, it's simply a matter of religion. In practice however, it's all mixed in with race and ethnic identity. |

Maybe it is a big problem in certain parts of the UK. Where I spent my college time on the East Coast of the States, I think many were able to make a distinction. I wouldn't be confident to say that about many of the places in the US I haven't lived in. |

No. You (as usual) are imagining my thoughts and opinions.
I appreciate an insult done well. For example, I've had more than a good chuckle at some of the insults Mcgarrett's thrown my way. Full respect for those who can hit back with a witty retort. And I have no problem getting down for some mudwresting. It's fun.
But your name-calling skills are utterly lacking in sophistication and wit. My 5 year old neighbour can run around calling his sister fat and ugly. You are nearly thirty years old! It's crude and hamfisted. In fact, it always strikes me that you do it out of desperation. You are out of your league, not too bright, and so you desperately resort to trying to club me with childish insults that you hope I will find hurtful. Keep hoping, sweetie. Frankly, you are a tedious bore. |

Aren't you the one who spent about a month stuck on the word simian?

The people who dislike Hugo are individuals who come from many different cultures. Again you persist in seeing the opposition to Hugo as one homogenized culture. A straw man called neo-con. Hun.

Ah, a victim of your own binary logic again. I never said that only neocons hated Chavez. You simply inferred it because your little simian mind could not deal with the many alternatives.
The neocon derived adjective functioned to modify 'kneejerk reaction.' Refer to your grammar book. |

What, and you are telling me that in BJWD's case it wasn't fitting?
And I wielded that insult for about a month, you say...? Well, little BJWD's been delving into the same arsenal for nigh on 30 years... |

That's interesting, because this morning, I was thinking the same of you, wondering if your behaviour was the result of a rather fragile ego. In fact I wondered even if I had been a little too mean.
Don't worry, you hurt my feelings as much as the yapping dog I pass on my way to the bus stop. But this thread has got very silly, and it's about time we stopped. |
