I like how they focus on us so much. But 100 yards away there would have been middle aged korean men cheating on their wives with a hooker, passed out on the road in their own puke. America should do a report on how unsafe Koreans are that come from dysfuctional familes are. They kill 33 people at their school.

Do you mean 'dysfunctional families'? Defunct means finished, out of service. 'Defuncational', if it were a word, would mean 'dead'-tional. Wouldn't really need the 'tional' part. You could just say dead, as in 'dead familys'. How are Koreans that come from 'dead families' unsafe. By unsafe I think you mean dangerous, right? Are Koreans who come from 'dead families' dangerous because they have angst, angry that their families are dead?

Laughing

Events occurring simultaneously within 100 yards of Olive channels broadcast:

1) Korean man assaulting defenseless woman.
2) Married Korean man banging prostitute.
3) Korean sleeping in street, drunk.
4) korean woman cheating on hubby.
5) Korean woman working in prostitution industry.

Anyone willing to pitch in to make a documentary about the secret lives of Korean journalists?

I can understand trying to get to the bottom of hiring practices of English hagwons but I have a few issues with this broadcast.

1. No different perspective. What about the teachers (majority) who behave and don't participate in disrespectful behaviors. What about the teachers who have masters in TESOL and valid backgrounds in educaton who actually love and care about what they do. What about the perspective of the foreign woman who has to endure the leers of drunk ajoshis and uni students as well as the occasional grope and inapprorpiate comment.

2. It's interesting that all of these behaviors: womanizing, lying about credentials to get a job, drunkeness.....all of those happen right here in Korea and among the Koreans. Just yesterday as I was walking to the subway station blocks from my house: a drunk ajoshi getting ready to lunge at me, a drunk uni student on the steps of the kimbabnara missing one flip flop and almost passed out and the drunk salaryman with a plate of dongkasu and passed out at the table inside kimbapnara.

I know that I am dealing with a media outlet that is obviously trying to sell a sensationalized story but damn......this sucks.

God I couldn't even watch this. They do what? Follow around a completely harmless drunk guy for an hour? "Oh no, he's sexin' up our women." This is so mind numbingly stupid.

Did anyone else notice when they were showing internet clips from esl websites, they showed one that said something like,
"I just wanna smoke a big marijuana joint and have an orgy with Korean girls and some friends and then go out and brutally assault some Korean men....just joking, people take things so seriously."
And then in Korean it just said, "I want to sleep with many Korean girls and my friends and then smoke marijuana." Taking that post completely seriously, THOSE MORONS!
That got my blood boiling watching that, blaming foreigners for the illegal teaching, it mentioned nothing about the recruiters and hagwons who set it all up, and gave completely inaccurate information about how to get an E2 visa. Seriously, I'm making it my mission to try and get on that show and set things straight, argggg, sorry but watching that made me so angry.

Hehe, yeah I'm usually not a serious guy like this, but man that was brutal. As far as actually getting on the show, I will be contacting them by tonight, I'll let you know how it goes. To be honest, the possibilities are slim that they will care, but I can't let that go by without saying anything to them.
