Sorry, I am new here and don't understand this.
Can you go on vacation to Japan and come back on your regular e2 visa with no problem?
thanks |

A single entry visa means you can only come in once--the time your first arrive in Korea. If you leave Korea with a single entry visa, then you cancel your workin visa. When you come back, you will be issued a new tourist stamp.
A mulitple entry visa allows you to come and go as you please without any problems.
If you have a single entry visa, you can get a multiple entry stamp at immigration for about 50 bucks |

So if I have a single entry visa that was renewed this past winter and go on vacation in a few weeks, will I have to renew it again once I return to Korea? I always thought that the visa would be good for one trip abroad without a need to renew |

No, its good for ONE (aka single) entry. That would be when you first entered Korea after getting the visa sticker in your passport (probably in your home country or on a visa run to japan). If you want to leave Korea and reenter and keep your work visa valid, you have to get a multiple entry permit at immigration. |

It depends on your visa and nationality.
For most of us, if you want to go out of the country on a vacation or other trip you must get a re-entry permit for your visa.
The procedure is quite simple and quick.
For a multiple re-entry permit you must go to your local immigration office.
For a single use re-entry permit you can get it at your local office or at the immigration office in the airport.
To obtain your re-entry sticker you present your ARC, an application form, your passport and the fee. They type it all into the computer and put the sticker into your passport. The cost is free for UK citizens, usually unnecessary for US citizens and for the rest of us, 50k won for a multi use and 30k won for a single use sticker.

Well, I'm a US citizen and for some reason this time around they only gave me a single entry. I know it costs 50k, but how long does the process take? |

You can do it at your local immigration office or the airport while you wait. |

Where's the closest immigration office from Bundang? I hope I don't have to trek out to Mokdong |
