i've got AVG, spybot & adaware all on my laptop, and scan frequently. i frequently get 'online security guide' and 'security troubleshooting' icons on my desktop, but when i run a full scan these are removed & my laptops back to its healthy self.
however, this time, they are not shifting. they are seriously slowing my system down, and my home page has changed to a random security alert.
can anyone recommend additional free software to shift these blighters?
i have tried going through add/remove progammes, but i can't figure out what name they're masquerading in there as.
PLEASE HELP |

Sorry, but most people don't know what's good for them
After a computer has a serious infection, it will never be "quite right" again until the great binary wipe. |

AVG misses alot, but with A squared free, an online scanner (or three), and some proper registry cleaning, you could avoid a format.
Also, Avast! Anti-Virus has a very good free Trojan cleaner on their website. (it's a separate little exe file, like 400kb or something.)
I suggest reading this other post to make sure you're set:
