Levis online is having a sale right now on Capitol E jeans. They are made in the USA and normally run about 200 bucks. These are the ones made in North Carolina. The sale is about 70 percent off the original price. They don't have my size (32X34) - but I can wear a 34 waist too...they do have 38X34. My question is, will I be able to have 4 inches taken in around the waist without completely destroying the jeans? Will it look bad? Thanks in advance.

Taking 4 inces out of the waist would leave you with a rather strange fit. It would essentially ruin the cut of the jean. An inch or a bit more (not much more) would be okay but don't buy a jean that big unless you plan on eating a lot of choco pies. Sorry...I forgot doggies can't eat chocolate!

I'd avoid taking anything out of the waist.

I bought a few pairs of Dockers because they were discounted a lot, even though the sizes were of a bit (I think I wear a 32, but bought a 34, or something like that). Anyway, the fit is bad. The back pockets aren't were they should be; they tend to my hips.

It ends up that I really wasted money on the purchase because, even though the Dockers style is great, the alteraton makes them terrible to wear.

Ah, looks like they did have my size after all. Just not in the color I wanted. "Salt" vs. "inkwell"....looks like I'll have to get the "inkwell"

Overall, not a bad price (80 bucks) for jeans that normally run 200 bucks.
