Have heard that a Vice Principle of an international School who put the son of a wealthy Kuwait citizen on detention is being held by Authorities indefinetly. All teachers working in Kuwait have been asked to not go back to their schools as a form of protest. Anyone heard about this from other sources. Haven't checked the Middle East pages yet. |

Seems like a par-for-the-course type deal, eh?
Hope it is not true... |

Off topic but my cousin worked for an international school in Kuwait. One of their worst students was the son of a Ministry of Education official and they had to keep passing him even though he should have been expelled many times. Their yearbooks were also censored by the Ministry of Education. |

Kuwait now those are guys who have a good time... I met four guys and their Hawks when they stopped their Mercedes... thing is there were no pigeons- or whatever birds there are that fly around Kuwait to hunt them (I did dig up a scorpion with my etool on accident)with so they were unable to show off their killing skillz.
I never actually taught English in Kuwait though so I could not tell you about the sk00l situation there. Maybe you could have all the Dave's teachers to fax the Kuwait embassy a stock letter saying how they will never leave Korea to teach in Kuwait if they do not improve the teacher government relations... |
