Some details concerning the trip itinerary would be helpful in answering this question.
-Which countries you are planning to visit.
-How many people are in your party.
-How do you plan on traveling (car, subway, trains, planes, hiking)
-What kind of accomodations will you stay at.
-Are you looking to do it on the cheap?
I went to Europe in 2003 with a couple of my buddies to vist Paris, Lugano Switzerland, Venice, Aix and then back in Paris. I was in Europe for 9 days and we rented a vehicle for half the trip. We generally stayed in hostels, slept in the car one night, and tried to keep things simple and cheap. The travel between countries can be pricy and that's the real x-factor. If you have 3-4 people in your party, a car may be more economical, if you have 1-2 people, a train ticket is your better bet. I think I spent about $1200 on my 9 day trip when the exchange rate at the time was in the $1.18-$1.23/Euro. I remember because during the 9 day trip, the exchange rate changed 4-5%
I actually made the trip with one carry-on backpack with wheels. It was a great trip. |
