While I am flattered that you wish to save my soul, I feel that you ringing my door bell at 9am every Saturday and Sunday and waking me up makes me less likely to want to visit your church.

Please schedule my salvation for later in the day.

Thank you

Answer the door naked and invite them to come in for a coffee.

Or just hang out a sign in Korean saturday/sunday morning offering hot oil hand jobs to missionaries.

No bollox come to the door with a raging horn and a surly look. I did it at my first address and managed to remain Jebus-free for the year. The next time they bothered us, barging into our apt on my wife when I was at work, having previously been told to feck off, I rang them and threatened to shoot them in the kneecaps. No lies.

Tell them that you joined the World Mission Society's Church of God and will ask the Heavenly Mother (literally, God on Earth) and Ahn Han Sohn - the late Second Coming/Reincarnation of Jesus- to save their heretical, Hell-bound lives when the end of the world arrives in the near future.

Avoid The Church of God!! It's a cult in my opinion.

The Church of God has been trying to recruit me but I told them that they are just another cult in Korea's disproportionately large "Jesus Industry." They are angry at me but I stand by ny words.

Anyway, any members out there? If so, please let us Condemned Ones know your thoughts.

I like their concept that the second coming has already happened (and Jesus was a soju swilling ajusshi in a polyester shirt!). This means, feck, we have to wait now for the third coming. Crap!

That's great! What's next....in the head?

What part of this prophesy are you going to fulfill?

These people will be the death of Korea. Forget about North/South, religion will destroy this peninsula.

I like talking to the Mormon guys.

For a while, I got a slew of them that were quite aggressive. I'd open the door a crack and they'd put their foot in to prevent me from closing it and then try to force me to accept their pamphlets...and then there was the old lady would come ringing 4 to 5 times in a day. If I made the mistake of answering the door before checking the security camera, she'd be back twice within the hour. My mother-in-law was staying over for a week. And I told her about the crazy old lady. She didn't believe me, but then she made the mistake of answering the door to her. The lady came back 3 times within the hour. My mother-in-law told her off and we've never seen her again.

I don't think they are expecting a foreigner in my neighborhood, so they usually leave when I answer the door. If they speak English, I say "I am a minister and a worship leader in my church" and that usually sends them away.

I had a picture on my door with Johnny Rotten on a crucifix. They didn't
get it.

My problem is they never expect I'm a foreigner, so after waking me up early weekend mornings, I answer the door, and all I receive is a startled look, a sheepish "hi", and then they run away. It's like my soul's not worth saving Crying or Very sad .

I was bored one morning, so I actually talked to the Church of God people for awhile/went later to their churchee to hear more about their propaganda.

Roch, I agree that it is definitely a cult, with surprising similarities to the Moonies. I kind of went along with the whole thing because I find cults to be immensely interesting/entertaining. I can almost dig the "Second Coming has already occurred" thing, but they also have this old chick (the Heavenly Mother... who happens to be alive and kicking as a traditional Korean woman) that they take WAY too seriously not to be a cult.

The best part for me whenever I talk to these Korean emmissaries of light is that they are shocked when I know more about Christianity than they do. Too bad for them I was raised so ridiculously Christian, I practically have a crucifix on my own back.

(Clearly, it didn't stick, huh?)
