I bought this printer some months ago. The guy who sold it to me for cheap said it worked fine. I installed the driver, the hardware, but I keep getting a communication error, and it won't print. The printer is plugged into an electrical outlet and the printer is connected to my laptop via a USB cord but still no go. What's up with that? I really want to use this printer rather than get rid of it. I am more familiar with HPs.
I don't know anyone I could really ask to help with this... I've tried to figure this out several times... It is an EPSON Stylus C45

You're using Windows XP, correct? You should have connected the printer before installing the driver. Did you get the latest driver from their website? Does the printer icon show up in Control Panel->Printers?
It probably is a driver issue. Just in case, go to the file menu of your program and click on 'Print.' Make sure the right printer is selected at the top.
If you installed the driver already, try to go to Device Manager and remove the hardware and its driver. Hope this helps. |

Thanks for the input. I did install the driver before connecting the printer. I then tried to re-install everything, and it didn't seem to connect. I found it bizarre that it said my printer was not connected and to check the cables when everything was plugged in. I will try again and see what I need to do. |
