FT on Seoul being the financial heart of Asia:
The anti-foreigner comment I think has less to do with the "yankee go home!" version and more to do with things like the resistance of KT&G to the plans of Carl Ichan and then a lot of the negative sentiments generated by Lone Star. And possibly rules publicly traded Korean corporations have that bar foreigners from the board room. And then there's the notorious incident where the Korea Automobile Manufacturers Association wouldn't let the foreign head of GM Daewoo take lead position. |
