I hope someone can help me. I'm looking at buying a ASUS notebook in Korea and it comes with a Korean version of Windows Vista. First, the seller said I'd have to go through the ASUS A/S center to get them to replace it. When I contacted the ASUS A/S center, they said they won't give/replace the Korean version of Vista. However they were "kind" enough to say they'd sell me an English version....
Has anyone bought a Korean version of Vista and been able to change the interface/help files/etc to English? I really hate the idea of paying for a licenced version of Vista that I can't properly use.

Taken from HERE. I have Vista Ultimate (originally in English) and I have downloaded MUIs for Korean and Finnish. No problem so far and everything works as expected.

PS. If you feel like it, you could always download Vista and install it by yourself... *Cough* ...which I naturally do not suggest that you should do. |

Don't buy from that seller. He wants to sell you Windows twice??!! A decent dealer would just tell you that he can't put English Windows on for you.
Anyway, as Seoulfinn says, Vista can be switched from language to language but in order to do that in the first instance you may need the help of a Korean to navigate the menus involved. |

Pick a new seller.
You CAN order notebooks here with ENGLISH windows (XP or VISTA - depending on the brand) and the rescue CDs as part of the package and NOT just as an add-on after (at GREAT EXPENSE to you).
The online service that many of them try to get away with providing instead of the recover disks is all Korean and essentially useless when you find you do need it. |

| How much is Vista? Do you want to buy my Vista CD? I got it with my new TG Sambo Averatec notebook and will probably never use it. |
