I'm curious, there are a lot of people who come here asking about how long they have to wait before they can return after a midnight run, but I was wondering if enything has ever happened to the runners?

Has anyone ever faced any legal (etc) consequences of a run, or heard of anyone who has? Anyone ever been caught mid-run (i.e. at the airport)?

Yeah I have read most of those, I was just looking for a bit of fresh insight, see if anyone has anything new.

I'm curious as well - Can we leave Korea and then immidiately re-enter the country on, say, a tourist visa and then start looking for work?

Or will Immigration require us to wait until our contract would have expired?

I agree. As long as you turn in that ID card, you can come back no problem. What I did, 3 times no less, is go to the Korean embassy in Japan, apply for a 5 year multiple entry tourist visa. This totally wipes your slate clean. Come back and apply for a new job. If something comes up with immigration, your new boss will take care of it. I've had 3 bribes paid on my behalf.

WOW!

I talked to a guy who worked in Korea a few years back and his old boss apparantly had him blacklisted (He says it was over an argument about severence pay which they didn't want to pay him).

He ended up in Taiwan and says he's happier here.
