My co-teacher, a bit of a history buff, likes to teach her grade six elementary school students about Korean suicide bombers (Haerbin), the real size of Korea (Samgug) and a new topic, Syngman Rhee's Americanism being responsible for the division of the peninsula. That's how she put it when she spoke to me. I'm sure much of the subtlety was lost in translation, but that's the essential argument. I think it's a gross oversimplification. I think my co-teacher has done her students a disservice by planting the idea that Rhee is single-handedly responsible for the division of Korea and that his American ideas are to blame. They haven't even learned about the Korean War yet. What do you think?

I just realised this is off-topic.

Korea was divided while Rhee was still in America. he had nothing to do with it.

She probably belongs to the lunatic left wing teachers' union here who are fed a great deal of their propaganda, which is summarily foisted on the kids they teach, from DPRK agents. This would be the same union who last year started an anti-foreign teacher crusade after seeking to incorporate us into their foul, bolshevik organisation.

For those of us who don't know what you're talking about (i.e. me), please explain what you're talking about. Provide links if possible- this sounds interesting.

I'll let someone else explain, I work mad hours, have a kid and am in the middle of my thesis. Do a search for KTEU (I think).
