So, I just applied for yet another Uni. I have gotten three interviews so far out of the first group of application packets ...pretty good considering what I did wrong.
I was preparing yet another application today when I noticed something odd on the top of my resume...half of my phone number was missing! I checked all of my back-up copies, and they all came up missing half of my phone number. The real humor is that two of my friends have proofread my resume (both with postgraduate degrees), and both of them missed it.
I do have my phone number listed again in my cover letter; I guess it goes to show that some people do read all the documentation that we are required to send. The interviewers did call me, after all. Even so, it does make me feel like an idiot...
SO, what is the silliest "I Is an Engrish Teacher" mistake you have made (in the classroom, at a meeting, on a resume, etc.)?

Probably your spelling is what set them off you, IMHO. |
