I am currentlying reading The Stark Truth. Anyone have any other books to recommend?
The Stark Truth rates the most overrated and underrated players at each position. Babe Ruth is the most underrated starting left hander in Stark's opinion.

Bo knows Bo is a classic....though another one i finished reading a few months back, Next Man Up, by John Feinstein. Feinstein is the first reporter/writer ever to spend one full year with a NFL team, The Baltimore Ravens and have full access to everthing.
He explains the economics of the game, talks about trainning camp, the cuts that are made, the offseason, the regular season, the draft. It is a great read if your a NFL fan....

Moneyball and Blindside by Michael Lewis are both great sports books.
Moneyball follows the Oakland As and their own system for finding optimum value in players. Interesting even though I don't like baseball so if you do like baseball you'll probably love it.
Blindside wasn't quite what I hoped it would be: an in depth look at the blindside tackle position in american football. It does have a great human interest story, insights into why blindside tackles are so important including a great piece about the great Law. Taylor and shows you what kind of economic sitiuations alot of these guys come from. A great book but I was a little disappointed as I thought it would be as good as Moneyball which is a classic. this could be because I know alot lot more about football than baseball so I expected more from Blindside.
Both are well worth the read if you are interested in either sport. |

Holly sez:
You know what the worst book ever written by anyone ever was? "Football, It's a Funny Old Game" by Kevin Keegan. |
