|
|
Has anyone had a criminal record check done very quickly in the UK?
My recruiter reckons it's possible to get one in a few days, but as far as I can see, it always takes much longer than that.
I already applied for a CRB check back in April, but the Police are still processing it. I think because I've had about six or seven addresses in the last five years, some of them in Korea, it is taking longer.
I'm trying to get all the documents together for a SMOE job starting in August and the guy at the recruitment company says I have to submit them all together or the application won't be accepted, although i already have a provisional offer.
I think that any kind of document from the police would do really, and it doesn't have to be such a detailed disclosure as the one I have already applied for. |

Can you let me know how you got it done in two weeks? Online or through the local Police station?
Also, had you lived at the same address for a long period? |

it's the 10 quid check
Look up your local constabularies webpage or the Met webpage
DL form - Freedom of Information or something like that
Complete then post to the UK for somebody to bung a tenner in with it
You will recieve a receipt saying thankyou
A few weeks later you will get the letter saying f you have been convicted or not.
Some constabularies take longer than others. |

CRB checks are an absolute nightmare. Like you, I've had many different addresses and every time I have one done, the separate sheet of paper that I write down my address history ALWAYS GOES MISSING. Personally I think the whole thing is a scam, as they cost about 50 quid these days I believe.... |

Thanks for the tip. I found some info on the MET website here:
http://www.met.police.uk/dataprotection/forms.htm
It's called the Police National Computer Form, which I think is a bit different from the full CRB check because you don't have to give details of all your previous addresses.
They say though, that it can still take up to forty days. Like mrssquirrel said it only costs a tenner, so that's way cheaper than the CRB check.
Thanks again - i spent ages trawling the web and would never have found that. |

I applied through Northumbria police and they were extremely fast.
Yu can't personally apply for a CRB anyway has to be through an umbrella organisation. |
