This is an example of friendship, there is no malice intended. Everyone getting a color label is an expample of fairness, however uniformly dumb. We dispaparage the concept while celebrating diversity. The PCer's engage in double speak as a fundamental rule.

How should we select friends in in multiracial and multicultural world? There's no answer but we are at a time when we need to get one. Unfortuately there isn't one and we've been avoiding the issue becuase it shows a flaw in the multicultural concept. The problem simply has been supressed.

Gyopo girl is a racist occupier herself. The White pushed the Indians off and the Yellows came and settled the land. Thats whacked.

Yes...I can clearly see how that statement was viewed as a example of friendship Rolling Eyes

The rest of what you wrote was basically gibberish. You make friends who who you want to make friends with. No one has a gun to your head saying "You must be friends with this person because they are White." You are talking in circles and I think you have managed to even confuse yourself. Be friends with whoever you like, what difference does their "race" make?

After calling Asians "yellow," you don't have much of a leg to stand on in calling others racist. You've done a great job confronting both an Asian and a black girl in this thread and calling them racist.

There's a race? When does it start? Who's racing?

Is this all tongue-in-cheek or for real?

Is it OK to refer to European Americans as "White" people but not OK to refer to Asian Americans as "Yellow" people?

It's funny how it's considered racist to say someone is yellow, red, or black, but referring to someone as white is perfectly acceptable in today's society. On my university application it asked whether I was, Hispanic, African-American, or White. Shocked

Well...you tell me what's wrong with being called White? What is the historical derogatory nature of the word "White"? I'm not trying to be a jackass, I'm asking a serious question.

And you're right...it is weird that White is ok....I've never given it much thought to be honest. I would assume because it's never had a negative connotation attached to it...at least not one that I am aware of....

Personally I don't have a problem being called "white," but it's a little hypocritical to imply that someone is a racist for calling someone, "yellow," when they refer to someone as, "white." Sort of like the pot calling the Kettle ...

Aside from the fact that nobody's skin is actually white, it is a term that is used to make generalizations about a group of people that have little in common.

Quote:
U.S. census documents, the designation white overlaps with the term Hispanic, which was introduced in the 1980 census as a category of ethnicity, separate and independent of race.[32] In cases where individuals do not self-identify, the U.S. census parameters for race give each original origin a racial value. This groups Middle Eastern Americans and North African American together with European Americans as White Americans.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_(people)#Social_and_physical_perceptions_of_white

It's also a term that is used to make blanket generalizations across ethnic and cultural lines in popular culture. Terms like: White people can't dance, most serial killers are white people, etc., are perfectly acceptable in popular culture even though they undermine the cultural heritage of the Irish, the Turkish, the Slavic, and other ethnic groups.

Incidentally, I'd consider this post to be racist:

I have developed a complicated method of selecting friends in this multiracial and multicultural world that I am willing to share. It's still in the preliminary stages of testing and development, but I think it may address the "flaw in the multicultural concept." Pssst....I make friends with people I like.

Maybe if you changed your name to Tony_Brain you could say something intelligent.

To the reasonable people: do you participate in threads like this because you think it's constructive or because you're bored?
