Anybody still in Pohang from 97?
I pretty well knew every foreigner in town at that time. We were close and had alot of fun!!
One of the things I enjoyed most was our weekly football and volleyball games on Sundays out at the grass fields near postech. What a difference that place is compared to the rest of Pohang!! Rolling Eyes

Any of you guys do anything similar now?

Yeah. Over the summer we had an English Teacher soccer team and we would play a team of Vietnamese/Russian/Chinese POSTEC engineers. The Commies regularly kicked our asses.
Its actually a great place to live for one year, but it kind of gets to your head after a while...

When I was there they were French, German and American engineers. I guess the economy made them hire the cheaper labour.

BTW, you're right, one year in Pohang is more than enough!

Eventful week in Pohang.
rockr1 has left. We had three different going away parties for some reason.
Sweetzombiejesus has arrived.
Rugby started. My boys from Romania got whomped by Ireland and the All Blacks did a fairly good job of slaughtering Italy.
I scored with a mannequin last night. Man, was she hot!
Ah, Pohang...

Yeah, cool to meet you too dan, um unfortunately, not long after the game, someone managed to find a selection of unguarded Mannequins, wigs etc. So wtf wasn't the only one to score a hot mannequin. However, once the alcholic haze has lifted I now realise this was in fact theft, and a poor showing by a fine upstanding cultural ambassador from New Zealand like myself (pssssst WTF, blame the Canadian ok).
Could be trouble brewing 2 more weeks till I get outta dodge, or maybe no-one makes it out alive.

In my post post drunken haze phase, I now realise that we were not stealing the mannequins, but in fact liberating them. And what is a mannequin anyway, if not a hegemonic alter to the western beauty myth, that has been co-opted by the Koreans. Rise up my Korean sisters and eat all you can, no longer will you have to starve yourself on Kimchee diets, to satiate your want of oneness with the mannequin from the department store downtown.
This is just the beginning, Brothers and sisters, comrades we will socialise Posco next saturday night, after a revolutionary conference at the Malboro. The time is nigh, there is no turning back!!!

The revolution will be postponed under the following cicumstances:
It's raining
The All Blacks or Romania are playing in the world cup
Hot Chocolates 'Heavens in the Back Seat of my Cadillac' finds itself on repetitious play at the Malboro

I am very sad that I will not be able to join the games Saturday night as we are going to Daejon for the weekend. I got the Saturday off! The next weekend for sure!

Ive been thinking. The only evidence that can pin us to our little crime is the mannequins themselves. We must eliminate them. Gfunk, you use your ties in the chicken sector of the Yak-ku-ja to hire a hitman. I will take care of the rest.
