It's only "awesome" to someone like you who thinks Michael Moore is some modern day muckraker when he's really just another cheap shot artist. His perpetual sneer is such a turn-off. And he doesn't have a conversation or dialogue with Blitzer; instead he just rants, points his finger like a school marm, and berates the very media that props him up. And for him to make irrelevant comments about the war just shows how much he likes to grand stand issues.
Then like a crybaby he goes on about needing an apology for CNN's criticism of his previous film while insinuating that the network hasn't invited him back in three years when in fact they did on numerous occasions. What a whiner. And to make matters worse, he tells Blitzer to apologize to the families of the troops. Hey, Big Mike: maybe YOU should apologize to those families for all your cynical, self-serving, distorted rhetoric that serves only to dissemble and demoralize.
I did enjoy Lou Dobbs comparing Moore to Chavez, however. Two fat butt buddies, he should spend more time in Caracas.

Our resident moonbat apparently is opposed to even the first Gulf War. Guess helping Kuwait rid itself of Saddam wasn't justified, eh? And anyone who writes "has excellent points" sounds like their some college dropout from Aurora, Illinois public access TV, if you get my drift.
Completely classless tirade once again. He impugns Gupta's motives for going to Iraq and embedding with our troops even though Blitzer pointed out he performed emergency neurosurgery (somthing Moore could benefit from, by the way). How many war zones have you been in, Big Mike? Hey, here's a heads up, Big Mike: I wonder if you'll lumber down to Havana the next time you need medical attention?
Just another leftwing wack job who's elitist enough to believe he can decide what the common folk need but of course he wouldn't use himself. Tip for ya big guy: our hospitals can hire cranes to lift the likes of you into the sick bay.
As for the accusation of propoganda, that's rich coming from someone whose idea of a documentary is to insinuate, speculate, and prevaricate as he did in his 9-11 film. And to assiduously avoid any dissenting view, I might add.
He actually had the audacity--or is it sheer arrogance--to claim that "everything" he said in Fahrenheit 911 has proven true. This is just ridiculous.
Sanjay Gupta has ten times the education of Moore, is a practical medical doctor who performs surgery on a regular basis at a big public hospital, not just a medical journalist. Go the WHO 2000 Report and read it. I have: what the good doctor says is correct.
And then Moore keeps using the word "free," as all liberals do who like to spend taxypayers' money at will. Let me clue you in Mike: none of those socialized health care systems are free. The French pay through the nose for the services they receive. Waits are often long in Canadian hospitals as elsewhere. For him to make such a blanket accusation shows to what lengths he will go to defend the "crap" he puts of celluloid.

W might win because he has a fast wit and can make fun of people on the fly, which would leave MM stuttering. If it were a written debate, wherein insults and one-liners don't compare to factual data, though, MM would easily rout W. |
GW might win if he was debating himself. Then again, he probably wouldn't. The only part of debating he's good at is making contradictory statements and making really stupid faces. |

How can people think Michael Moore was awesome..He went on the offensive but he's a total hypocrite..
One of the first things out of his mouth in that video was...'that.that uh report was so biased'
What???? Moore has the most biased films in history. He's even admitted he's biased...out of "necessity" of course... Anyway I loved it...hey mikey a taste of your own medicine....hmmm good Ok so play the victim then accuse CNN of a conspiracy, paid off by the pharmeceutical companies..which one was it??
Also what the heck is he talking about EVERYTHING in F911 being true??...I don't remember any oil pipe line being constructed in Aghanistan. Does anybody esle? |

What has been lost in this discussion of the Moore/Gupta debate is that the U.S. is still #37 in the world in health care, despite spending more money than everyone else and Gupta agreeing that the U.S. Health Care system being significantly flawed and in need of reform.
Of course none of this would have been mentioned in the U.S. Media if it was not for Moore's film and antics.
And, that is the whole point. The media is not doing its job well. And, we do need someone like Moore to bring it up because no one else seems to be able to get the issue on to the front pages.
If Moore made a film and just stood up and read statistics, would anyone see it? I guess the people who watch C-Span might? But, that is not the audience that Moore wants to reach.
People would not criticize Moore's methods if they did not fear it.
Moore goes to great lengths to document his sources. You very, very rarely hear anyone in the news media cite theirs. Politicians? Whatever... |

College dropout for Aurora? Funny when you consider that Wayne's sidekick, Garth, was based on this guy:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brad_Carvey
Even funnier when you remember that my grad degree is very real and from a very British university.
Why did people care that Iraq invade Kuwait?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nurse_Nayirah
I guess you were too busy sucking in the images of bombs being dropped on random trucks that you were being fed to ask yourself why it could be wrong that CNN was so gleefully airing them.
Was I opposed to the first Gulf War? Nah, I just dislike being taken for a ride. Besides, for all you know, I may have fought in it (after all, I was in the Canadian Armed Forces). |

I don't know if it was in part one of the interview or part two http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F91hq6Js9Rs, but Moore makes a particularly nice point.
He said that in Sicko he highlighted what was being done right in the Canadian, French and British health systems because the mainstream media like CNN only reports it's failings. He's right. I don't ever recall the American media repeorting anything positive in the Canadian medicare system. I usually saw some congressman ranting about wait times or whatever.
Call Moore whatever you like but he's waking people up to reality. He's talking about things that matter while CNN wastes the American public's time reporting about the antics or Paris Hilton and going on and on about Anna Nicole Smith's death. |

So true. Not even a pretence of impartiality. As soon as he made that Chavez comment I thought "Thanks. You've just proven you're nothing more than a propaganda machine".

Exactly. You highlight what's wrong with your own system and highlight what would be a better alternative. Besides, universal health care in the US wouldn't be the same as it is in Canada, France, or the UK, so the problems would be different. |

He's never once been sucessfully sued for misrepresenting facts, and believe many people have tried. He has a whole team of fact checkers, naturally enough when every jingoistic right wing extremist nut is gunning for you. He's never been caught out though, and he won't be caught out on this movie either.
As for the rest of your post, cretinous drool as usual... |

Parkland medical center in Dallas estimates about 30% of its caseload is treating highly preventable illness like child obesity, diabetes in teenagers and younger...
All you fatties need to fucking die. And your ugly worthless fat kids. Stop stuffing their ugly little pig-faces with fucking food and shoot yourselves. All you fatties whine about healthcare like you deserve it when all you deserve is a bullet in the fucking head.

Really? I've been hearing about health care reform on CNN since before Hillary Clinton went on her soap box in 1993. The report the OP refers to is from 2000 and published by the WHO. It has been circulated with weblinks on many American media websites ever since.
The U.S. is 1st in two critical categories if you bothered to look carefully, and as Gupta pointed out but Moore glossed over when he was wiping his fat butt with the camera. And other developed nations levy much heavier taxes on their citizens for supposedly free care--a euphemism if there ever was one.

Somehow I doubt it unless it was as a cabin boy in the Canadian Navy. And yes we know the sizable contribution and role played by the CDF in the first Gulf War. It lasted on the US Navy radar screen for about an hour.

Whether that's true or not is immaterial. It's how a director presents the narrative that connects the facts that matters and in this regard Moore is as polemic as they come. |

Anti-American drivel? No, man. I love the US. I just hate what you conservatives have made of it.
A blip on the radar? Canada was one of the first to voice its opposition to Iraq's invasion of Kuwait. A Navy cabin boy? I wasn't in the Navy.
You seem to forget the soldiers in the desert in Quatar or the CF-18s that went into bombing missions in Iraq and Kuwait.
Whatever. We already know that you couldn't be bothered with trivial things like facts and the truth. |
