I can't really talk about it in the open forum because it would be promoting, but I sent you a PM...
One thing I can say is this...A course of any kind whether online or onsite does their self no favors by using the time spent in observation to criticize the instructor...Most people who are instructing English are good people with skills they have acquired over time...They are taking a course because they want to know and understand what they are doing more clearly...Make the course something people can use and it will become a benefit to everyone... |

Why would you need to send in VDO's? |

It is likely that most people will either wait until the last week of summer vacation thinking they can easily do their work, or simply wait to see if they have money left over...Knowing that a pay increase of 100,000 KRW is laying in the wing could motivate some to do it sooner than later... |

I'm glad I finally did it. Now I just wish they'd send me the certificate already! At first, they were going to charge me $50 to send it here DHL. I thought that was a bit pricey and asked them to send it to my parents' house in the States. THey still want $50 for DHL. And they still think that I'm having it mailed to Korea. I spend a lot of time forwarding my replies to them time and time again. I don't think they communicate with each other, the people who read and answer the e-mails. I still have no idea when I'm getting my certificate, where it will be mailed, and if I am really going to have to pay $50 more to get it. Getting less and less pleased with ITTT. |

Finding a course that is complete can be a tricky thing...Some always want to tack on extra costs...This is why some programs are a steal at the price they offer...
A course that offers a complete package, online with no email correspondence, and free delivery of your credential packet is more than worth the cost...The cost of shipping from Korea to most anyplace in the world is around 30,000 KRW, do the math for people who live outside of Korea and they would get a great deal on a program if it was in the $200 range like many are these days...Even in Korea the cost of shipping in counrty is around 15,000 KRW...This is also a steal... |

I was recommended by one of my friend who has taken a great online course and bumped up to level 1 from level 2 in a public school which automatically gave him 200,000 Won raise.
So I'll be following his footsteps this summer and signed on with KEI - TEFL and The Institute of Online Education |

I am doing this course now. To anybody put off by the low price, I have to say it is a steal! The course is proffessional, and has great information included. The Instructor is always online during teh day, so you get graded within 30 minutes of completing a test. I have only once had to wait longer than that, and it is because I completed one test late at night - I had my grade before 9am the next day! The course is far from being a cakewalk though - you will have to put some thought into getting the certificate! |

Thanks. Glad to know that I'll be getting a good teacher's training which will be well worth my time and money. |

| I am thinking of doing a young learners TEFL course this summer. Has anyone done one and if so, is it worth while. The regular TELFs are geared more toward teaching adults and I teach k-6th. I would like a few more ideas in that area. |

| These are two programs that have great significance for people working in Korea...There is some thoughts of creating this as part of the instructional focus by some folks here in this country... |

| The time of the year tends to spark the interests of those wanting or needing a training program...What are your ideas about programs that would best suits your particular needs or wants...(Please no replies of one that is free, etc. or other things that would lessen the meaning of the posts)... |

They want to charge you to send your cert by mail? Why? I didn't have this problem at all. They sent it to the states as well. Now it did take just over two weeks to receive. However, I requested a pdf of my cert and two days later I had it in my inbox, forwarded that to my recruiter and she forwarded it to the school. This was enough to satisfy everyone to get the paperwork moving. Of course, the school still needed my original after I arrived in Korea.
There's a contact number / email on their website. I suggest you utilize that if you haven't already. |
