Oh those wacky Irish guys over at Steorn. Seems Big Oil managed to scuttle the latest attempt to bring the world "too cheap to meter" energy. Oh. No. Wait. It was lights. Seems free energy only works in the dark:

If it knows, Steorn is keeping its lips tightly sealed. As it unveiled an Orbo prototype this month at the Kinetica Museum in London, the device was greeted by a wave of skepticism. But before the museum could open its doors to a curious public, Steorn pulled the plug on the event, saying the light from lamps needed for webcam broadcasts interfered with the device's ball bearings. |
At least it didn't kill a guy like this bozo "unplugged" by Richard Feynman:

There is a cool devise that some Greek guys are trying to sell in Canada that is interesting and in their prototype it does work, but I think Canada is the wrong country for it and it would be expensive to build and maintain I think. They plan to lay a rolling carpet of Pistons under the road that would be pushed down as cars drive over them thus creating energy. It would be good on bridges or in warm places that don't need plowing, but as far as I know as of this year, they still have not found a community to finance and try it out on a larger scale. Wellend Ontario was the most interested last I knew. |

I proposed the pistons on a bridge idea to the DOE back in the 1980's.
(Mine was gear driven with huge magnets)
They laughed at me.
I also proposed using heat tranducers in pavement and on rooftops.
Again the laughing almost drove me mad.
They laughed at me.
Thay spent all that money researching peet moss fercrisake.
So instead of going mad I decided to keep my mouth shut.
The other idea I had was capturing all the noise of a city and converting it back to energy. I couldn't figure out a good conveyance. |

You have the patents right? Be prepared to make bank when these ideas become mainstream. People will still be laughing at you as obviously you are the type of person that people laugh at. But that can't be helped. |
