I just watched the first four episodes of 'meadowlands.' It's really weird, and I think it's pretty good.

It reminds me a bit of Twin Peaks, but without the science fiction element; one of those ensemble casts of total fruitcakes, none of whom are exactly what or who they appear to be.

The premise is, a family goes into a witness protection program and gets sent to a town full of crazy wingnuts. People do and say wacky stuff and lie to each other constantly. Folks do terrible things to each other. It's fun.

Not quite sure what to make of it, in the end, but I'll definitely be watching the next couple episodes.

It's called Cape Wrath in Britian. It's interesting in that it's being broadcast at almost the sametime on Showtime in the States and Channel 4 in Britian, so you don't have to wait several months to watch it if you end up on the wrong side of the Atlantic. Have there been any other series like that?

If its like Twin Peaks in any way that`s enough for me, as that was the best tv series I`ve ever seen by far.

I've watched the first 5 episodes and I dunno... I just can't really get into it. I'll probably keep watching though since there's not much else to watch this summer (Big Love and Weeds is about it).

I know what you mean...the characters are pretty nasty. I think I might be watching it mostly because bad stuff happens to them. Plus it's good camera work, and well acted.

I just got through Season 1 of The Wire, and it's a great show - HBO can do no wrong. I'll still put Twin Peaks ahead though, and I'm downloading Cape Wrath as we speak.
