I REALLY miss playing Guitar Hero after spending a month back home last December playing with my brother obsessively. I'm trying to think of my best way of playing it in Korea.

I've looked around the Nambu electronics market extensively, and more casually at Yongsan, but I can't find it anywhere.

I would probably buy whatever console I find it available one.

Right now I'm thinking the best bet would be to buy the Wii and wait for the fall release of Guitar Hero III, even though I'd ideally like to go back and play Guitar Hero II again, and also the first one, which I never played at all.

While I'm waiting for the release I can play Madden Football, and that cool looking Paper Mario game. Actually the Wii kind of intrigues me and I wouldn't be opposed to buying one (my girlfriend hates video games, but I think she'd enjoy playing the sports games on the Wii, and, God willing, Guitar Hero).

Or I could get the XBOX 360, but that seems excessive since I probably won't play much else besides Guitar Hero.

Or I could get rid of my XBOX and get an old PS2 and have my brother mail me the old versions of the games, and then part 3 when it comes out (I think I saw they're releasing it for the old Playstation).

I never thought I'd be addicted to another video game again after breaking my GTA San Andreas addiction... Played it so much I got sick of it...

Go for the Wii. Zelda, Excite Truck, Rayman, scarface, resdident evil, godfather etc. are some other cool games to play while you wait for guitar hero.

That's the direction I'm leaning, but now I might have to buy a new computer soon, complicating things...

Is Godfather cool? It looks like it could either be totally awesome, or really lame...

Side note: I found out about "Frets on Fire" an open source version of Guitar Hero for PC.

Installed it last night. It's not much to look at but it's still fun. It might tide me over until I can get the real thing on Wii.

I'm currently trying to organize a Guitar Hero night at a friend's bar in Itaewon. Kind of a karaoke competition...I'll keep you posted.

Sweeeeeeet!

Which console will you be setting it up for? I saw over the weekend that they sell it in Korea for XBox360 now. As impressive as the 360 is, I think I'm leaning pretty heavily in favor of buying the Wii for taking things in a whole new direction.

Still.... man I miss playing me some Guitar Hero...
