I really don't see how society has become so paranoid about the "dangers" of government agencies having your information. If President Bush (or anyone else) wants to listen in on my private conversations that I have with my mom, well, as long as I don't get sued for someone actually dying of boredom, I really don't care. |
You probably haven't invested a lot of time and education into free speech, government abuse of power and history. |

There is currently a Indian doctor sitting in a cell because he gave a cell phone to a person to use so that he would not have to keep paying for another year a cell phone bill he would not use.
The Government having your information is not a problem. The Government abusing the information they have about you, well that is a different story.
I prefer to not enter their line of site if I can help it. I know personally what they can do and if you think its wrong you are usually misunderstood for disagreeing with it. |

in its self facebook isn't a big issue but when you correlate that personal information with other information gathered, travel habits (tracked through ticketing, cell phone, etc), shopping habits (credit cards etc) etc you can form a good psychological profile of people. it allows for better overall social control |

You guys seen all the new applications on Facebook? You can't sign up for them without consenting to all sorts of stuff, that's the catch. |
