Was in the Walker hill casino last night, and came out ahead. Not by much mind you, but still ahead. Played blackjack for a short while, but spent most of my time on the roullette. Blackjack tables at Walker Hill used to accept surrendering, but don't anymore. Pusan and Kyungju casinos do. I don't know about the Chejudo ones or the new casino in Kangwondo. Anyone know?
Playing roullette though I was sitting next to a Japanese couple who had their own notes and system written in book form for beating the odds. They had these sheets which they filled out for each throw of the wheel. They actually won a lot of money. I didn't stay with them, because it took all the fun out of playing for chance.
Suppose if you memorize the numbers you can work out by looking at the screen with all past hits which ones inall probability are likeky to come up again. |

Nothing weird about it, Mack. Any sane casino will let you use any system you want for playing Roulette, as long as you don't touch the wheel. The reason why is that the amount of money you put down and where has no influence whatsoever on the odds. Every turn on the wheel has the same house edge of 2.7% (single-zero roulette) or 5.4% (double-zero roulette).
Any betting system you use on the wheel will only trade a lot of small wins for a few large losses, or a few big wins for a lot of small losses. For an easy to understand explanation of the fallacy of betting systems by an actuary turned gambling expert, click here: http://www.wizardofodds.com/gambling/scam.html
Counting cards in blackjack is different because blackjack is a variable probability game. The odds change every time a card comes out of the deck. I don't know about Korean casinos, but all Vegas casinos throw counters out as quickly as they can find them. As I said earlier, counting cards is not as easy as it sounds, highly risky, a lot of work, and definitely not for the faint of heart. |

Yet another thread that could use a reply - but I have a class starting soon; someone may need to prod me later on this one.
I can clue you into pretty reliable systems for roulette, a side-line bet for craps, and how to properly play slots for wins. Sorry, I am not a card-counter & not much of a pro blackjack player.
Also, I know the BEST way to make money at a casino in Korea, but for this one, you'd have to be on my 'inner circle' - i cannot blow it for those already doing it.
Regards,
G. |

a side-line bet for craps, |
I have never seen a craps table anywhere in Asia, except once in Manila at a place that looked dodgy enough they might have used shaved dice ... Walker Hill Sheraton defintely does not have this game.
Does anyone know a place to play it here? |

Was in the casino at haeundae on the weekend, and as it was one of the few times that I was able to make money I was able to have a conversation with one of my co gamblers at the snack counter. It turns out that he had lost W100,000,000 at Walker hill in Seoul and another W50,000,000 at the Haeundae casino. All within a matter of a week. That's big money, and the guy was quite blasaie about it too. He also happened to be Chinese. Didn't realise people played and lost that kind of money. |

That sort of money flies around a lot, especially with the wealthier Asian gamblers coming out of places like Taiwan, HK, and Macau.
A whole new ball game.. :)
As for me, I lost $40 on some machines when it meant a lot. Now I do a bit of a wager on a football game or partake in the sweeps for the Melbourne Cup, but that's where it ends.
I can't stand the thought of losing my money.. :)

counting cards... hmmmmmmmmmmmm
here is the rule, some say this and some say that.. but here it is
if you say you can count cards you are either a maths whiz, have a calculator or have spent a lot of time learning.
23456 count +1
8910jq count -1
when the count is positive you have a good chance that a big card will drop.. negative a small card |

Actually it's,
2-6 count +1
7,8,9, count 0 (neutral)
10,j,q,k count -1
I count aces by raising my foot or using toes.
MUCH easier to count when you can ignore 3 cards.
Tip: Always count in pairs (duh) (Memorize every combo of 2 cards)
It takes time to learn. Just practice.
When the count is very high, bet alot. When it is low, bet small. Simple.
Probability for a blackjack or high two card hands are high. You get paid 3:2 for a blackjack, but the casino does not take 3:2 for a blackjack. You should always come out on top. This is the basic gist, with a ton of info missing that I could probably write a book about.
Tip: Don't bet so wacky - 100 bucks, then 5 bucks, then 200 bucks. Easy sign of a card counter. You'll definitely get caught, kicked out and possibly blacklisted.
Always play manual shuffling tables and know how many decks they use.
Usually they use 6-8 decks. The smaller number of decks the better. (Very important!!!) 6 decks = 24 aces, easier to count, etc.
I have never lost at a casino from blackjack for the past 3 years, and I go about once a month. Know your limits.
Professional gamblers almost always play 3 games exclusively, blackjack, craps and baccarat. (Not including poker, which is true skill)
(Actually I've never met a pro gambler who play anything other than these games.)
Every other game has a MAJOR advantage towards the casino.
E.g. Roulette - 0 and 00 and paying out 1:1 for red/black, even/odd, etc. as Son Deuro! stated
Pai gow - 5% for a winning hand
Let it Ride - the worst game to play probability wise.
Slots - try the lottery (slots are the biggest moneymaker for every casino)
Now go make some money! |

it has been about 6 -7 years since my casino days.
i forgot the 789 were 0.. and i forgot to even include the king in my first post...
it does take a lot of practice & it is especially hard when you play at a full table.. i do agree psy, if you play smart, your chance of losing is greatly reduced |
