|

The principal's secretary at my school wants me to tutor a small group of kindergarteners (one of which is her daughter) twice a week for four weeks (in August). One hour each class.
I'd like to do it- I have the principal's permission and it will be done in the school. My problem is I don't know what to do exactly.
I could cover the alphabet, animals, some simple math problems, etcetera, but I don't have any other ideas.
Can anyone help? |

1) You may have an age difference in the kids. Older kids - more clever . Watch out for that.
2) Kinder boys are bad. Hope you have have more girls.
3) Big kindergarten workbook - W25,000 gives you 3 - 4months of busy work, its a very good investment.
4) Angle to having a Korean female present during class for safety and discipline |

Don't do that. That's my suggestion. |

Just try and think back to when you were a kid. What would have kept you interested?
My advice: count. Everyone loves counting, especially young'ins.
Try it with apples. 1, 1 apple! 2, 2 apples! 3, 3 apples! AH, HAHAHHAHA!

Agreed and that's no joke. Let them color and talk to them while they color. |

body parts, fruits/vegetables, weather, animals, feelings, etc.
Just vocab and a few key phrases. They won't remember anything and kindie is the worst thing to teach. Or maybe I wasn't cut out for it. I never did songs or chants and those are basically requirements to teach kindie. I treated it like the kind of job where I'd go until I couldn't anymore and quit. So many mornings I woke and thought "is it going to be today?" |
