I know its a touchy subject but what better place to bring it up but in an internet forum?

I was considering it. My girlfriend wants to get married, and among being fairly in love and also realising I would make more cash I was really willing. Then I thought it over and decided getting married is not about money.

Is there any F2'ers out there that are willing to admit that they while they may have loved there wife, in the back of their minds they were also thinking about the immediate financial benefits that are attached to the marriage? Its a little like Anna Nicole Smith marrying that old incontinent guy, the only different is most K girls are fairly sexy... Very Happy

Sounds to me like you are ripe for the pickens. Take it from someone who has been married to 2 korean women... If you get married with that attitute, the only person who will gain finacially is your future EX wife.

When I married there was no F2 visa. All I could get was an E2 visa....life was hard. What you are saying sounds soooo bad. Don't marry for a visa...treat her with more respect than that....and you won't always live in Korea. Someday you will go home and then what will happen.

Money was not on my mind...I took a pay cut to come back to Korea. We used to live in Hong Kong. We came back to help my wife's parents and for our kids' schooling. I didn't want to come back. Coming to Korea was a sign that I truly loved my wife.

Don't get married just for a visa. It's a longterm contract, so better be sure there's trust and true friendship going on.

Took me over 16 months after the nupts to get my F2. She kept bugging me about it, but truth is, I didn't want to think I was getting some benefit merely because of who agreed to marry me. She convinced it was good for both of us - now I'm working 3 days a week part-time (12 hours instead of 30) and getting paid close to what I was before, with plenty of time to do private lessons, which I no longer have to skulk around and hide ...

But, you really DO have to start with the love part, you know.

Perhaps you could work at a deal with a third party. You marry your wife so you get more money. Also, you marry a mexican, who is already married, so she gets a green card. Finally, your Korean wife gets to have sex with the husband of the Mexican so she knows what its like to be with a real man.

It works out for everyone.

I was offered 10,000 by a Korean lady to marry her for a visa. It was no joke, either.
