I don't have an answer, but, I do know that the Fed's (U.S.), have access to any and all types records in the U.S. without needing ones' consent. Perhaps USCIS in conjection with korean immigration scratch each other backs by helping one another? |

This will never happen. I can't imagine U.S. gov't would even consider sharing private and confidential information of it's citizen VOLUNTARILY to any foreign gov't.
Possibly with some sort of consent..... |

i noticed that some of the top ranked schools in the USA are not listed, like Duke, UNC Chapel Hill ,UVA, Harvard , Princeton etc , i wonder why. i was pissed because almost every darn school in NC even community colleges were listed except for UNC and Duke! Not that I care about Duke!
Just my gripe |

boyne,
Perhaps they will (US and Korea) simply reach an agreement where when a US citizen applies for a teaching visa in Korea, the Korean immigration department can then access this database to check the legitimacy of the degree.
This could also be done by Embassies and consulates.
Regardless, this would definitively be a step in the right direction. |

How do you know Korean Immigration is using the list?
Given that the list does not include some of the most prestigious universities in the U.S., lets hope they come up with a better list before Korean Immigration (if it is even using the list) tells someone with a degree from Harvard, MIT, Yale and some other very well known universities that he or she is not eligible to teach in Korea.
Obviously, a work in progress.
I hope. |
