There is a warning label on fans. That's also the reason they come with a timer.

Lol..i never saw the warning. The one I have didn't. Can I sue if I get sick or hurt? If there's a fan death...there's got to be a fan injury/illness.

How many days do you think I can get off?

That's awesome -- I want to call in sick with fan death and see what they do.

"I can't come in, I have fan death."
"But you aren't dead."
"Yes I am."

I have to shake my head every time I see this. I've been racking my brain trying to think of any belief (non-religious) that comes close to this in the West, to no avail. Any takers?

Going into water less than one hour after eating will cause you to die.

I would say the last one is widely held like fan death. (High power lines near your home will give you cancer, etc. People have a very hard time selling their home these days if it's located near such power lines.) The first few are popular but not so widely held, I think. Don't swim for 2 hours after you eat is another one that I think is fan deathy.

How about this one?

Has anyone ever become fan-sick or fan-injured? Why does there only seem to be fan-death? You would think at least one person would have survived a near fan-death and have a fan death-survivor story.

Y'know, the ultimate way to get away with murder here would be to smother someone with their pillow, then turn on their fan and close all the windows.

Maybe the fan deaths in the news are really the work of a serial killer.
