I know that it Canada it can cost up to 5000cdn per eye!!
Korea is more cash friendly I hear, so anybody had it done?

If so how was the procedure, the cost, and then end result?

I actually had it done in Canada, it didn't cost anywhere near what you posted. I think I paid around $2000 total including all the related medical check-ups with my local eye doctor.

Anyway, I had the surgery, and after a lengthy healing process, my vision is now roughly 20/20, perhaps a bit better.

BKK has the best deal if you can get out of town.

I know that my former-stepmother had to pay that, must have been due to her evil eyes!

What is "BKK" and where is it?

Recovery at whatever hotel you want. Recovery = sick so make sure you are comfortable.

Had lasik in NZ about 5 years ago. Now I have roughly 20/20 vision and I could hardly see 30 cm in front of my face before. I had no recovery time at all. I was driving around in the car the next day without specs, felt terrific. Maybe you just need to select a good surgeon, but I felt great and it was the best money I have ever spent.

How quickly after LASIK will I be able to see?
The average LASIK patient will see well the next day, and be able to return to work by day two. Of course, your vision will continue to gradually improve for several weeks.

There is a recovery period. Eye surgery is very important. If the doc says take it easy, wear sunglasses inside etc... do so. You want comfort, BKK is as comfortable as it gets.

I just had it done three weeks ago at 밝은성모안과 02-2202-1515
in GangNam.

I had a wavefront procedure to correct -2.5 myopia for 1,900,000won in cash. The clinic has a lifetime guarantee on all procedures, the doctor has performed around 7,000 surgeries and can speak English (well enough). Ask any native Seoulite about it....

Immediately after the 10 minute painless psychedelic surgery I had near perfect vision, but gradually my pain increased over the following 12 hours to an almost unbearable level of burning (it felt like someone has scorched my eyes with lasers....imagine that!) where I couldn't even open my eyes or sleep. This lasted for roughly two days until I emerged exhausted, into a world of alternating clarity, blurriness, and persistent dryness. Now all of these symptoms have gradually subsided and swear I have better than "20/20 vision" (although I'll go back next week to get an actual reading), but I'm still continuing the eye drops as recommended.

I was warned that some people experience more pain than others, and that the recover rate/period is different for everyone, so I'm not too upset about an excruciating lost weekend. So far I'm very satisfied and optimistic. I can even begin to describe the feeling I have when I stand on my roof and look over the city.....

That's more than what we paid in Korea for my wife's Lasik surgery. It's all about referrals. If you are referred to a doctor by a patient of his or hers, you'll get the 'friends and family' rate.

The price also depends on the type of lasik. Wavefront was worth the difference in price for me.

I got mine in Mumbai for $800. Mumbai is not a place to relax. I can't recall if it was wavefront or not but the surgery was at Mumbai's leading clinic in the area. It was a kinda dumpy place unlike the office in BKK.

Nope. That's a lot of...well...bologne.

Cheapest with same technology and equipment is at Tianjin No. 1 Hospital and Beijing Eye Clinic at about $625. They also have a medical exchange program with some leading American eye care programs.
