Bucheon is fine, I lived there three years and had no complaints. It's close to Seoul, close to the subways, and there's loads of foreigners around if that's what you're into. Some parts of Bucheon are fairly affluent and relatively clean. Others slightly less so.

I don't know anything about Suwon firsthand, but have heard it's dull as ditchwater and too damn far away.

What part of Bucheon are you offered a job in? Some parts are better than others, but it's all not-too-bad and each area has its merits. PM for details, if you want.

I live in Bucheon and it's alright but it's smaller then Suwon. When I originally was making my decision to come I'd heard negative things about Suwon but after having been there, it's not bad at all.

They've got more major department stores, restaurants, and a bigger "downtown" then Bucheon. And it's really not that much further away from Seoul then Bucheon, not enough to make a huge difference.

I've a friend in Suwon. And we normally hang out there or in Seoul, not Bucheon if that is any indication.

But ultimately, the school or job is what you need to look at. It's where you'll be the bulk of your time, so in my book the better school wins over location.

I lived in Bucheon in 2005. My apartment was in the Metropolis II-B officetel, 2 1/2 blocks away from Central Park. I love Bucheon. It's a great town, there's plenty to do there, the film festival is fun, and it's easy to get around town or even up to Seoul.

Love Bucheon, Crazy happy here. But we live in the New Area, Sang-Dong. It's a busy place with lots of things to do. PM for more info.

Well here is the exact list of what my offers are:

1. Suwon Susung middle school (http://www.suseong.ms.kr/)

2. Yongin Neongwon elementary school (bit rural) (http://www.suseong.ms.kr/)

3. Bucheon Seo elementary school: http://www.pcs.es.kr/

4. Suwon Hwahong high school http://www.pcs.es.kr/

5. Ansan Seongan high school http://www.seongan.hs.kr/

I think Im ruling out Ansan (far from Seoul, right?) and Im not sure about the school in Yongin...since its considered rural I get a 100,000 rural allowance, and its supposedly only ten minutes away from the Bundang sub station by bus.

Thanks for the help!

Stick with Bucheon. I lived there at the same time as CentralCali and we both loved it. There are plenty of things to do there. At Central Park on the weekend there's always something happening, as well as, the Pucheon International Film Festival. You're only 30-60 minutes from Seoul depending on where you're going. Plus, Sang-dong has one of the coolest bars in Korea: Canada Buddy.
