So you have your MA in a related field, at least 5 years of university level teaching experience, and you have completed the CELTA and DELTA courses? Those are the qualifications carried by most of the 'highly qualified' university ESL instructors I know. |

Indeed PRagic.
The CELTA and DELTA being the less common qualifications in my experience.
But, at least 5 years of referenced university level teaching (or its equivalent). Solid credentials, professional attitude, very well organized lesson plans (not made up the night before)....
Oh and why would anyone with said connections help you out OP when your post pretty much says the opposite of "very qualified"? Also, no one I know with said connections (including me) would refer a complete stranger from an anonymous discussion board to a university job under his recommendation...sorry.
Good luck. |

No surprise, really. This seems to happen every hiring season. At least one person comes on the board simply asking for a university position. Not going to happen, but always amusing. |

I think the OP is the single mom with a degree in special ed. (K-12) If you have your MA and certification, look into Department of Defense schools (DOD). You'd teach at 'real schools' in programs on a U.S. military base. Your kid could study for free, the pay is great, and the housing allowance is second to none. |
