Hi all,

Today I opened up a savings account with KEB bank. It's just a regular savings account and I cannot make any overseas transactions with this account. They gave me a cash card and a book when I opened it. What's the maximum I can withdraw in one day from the atm machine?

Thanks.

I've withdrawn 700,000 with no problem.

Hmm, are you sure? I have two accounts with KEB. One is a regular account where my paychecks are deposited. Another is an interest-bearing savings account, and from what I understand I can't make withdrawls without paying a penalty. When I opened it, I had to select a length of time---I chose 18 months---and I can't touch the money without paying a penalty before the expiration of that time.

I think that at least sometimes the maximum amount that you can withdraw from an ATM does vary depending on the ATM you are using ... rather than just being X amount in a day ...

On regular passbook accounts:

The machine limits are usually 600-700k won per transaction and the daily limit is something like 5 million won.

I have (by using multiple transactions one after the other) taken more than 3 million won out of my account in one day at an ATM machine with no problem.
