now i know ive seen questions posted here asking whats legal etc here as far as meds go.

my post is a bit different then the ones that i have found.....and yes, i use the search function regularly.

i NEED some pain medication. between a massively messed up mouth, and busted knee (that i broke a little over a year ago) i am finding nothing that will offer me any pain relief.

going to the hospitol yielded me some misc pills that included an ibuprofene type med and some codiene.....neither one helped with my pain.

does anyone have any advice? back home i was given vicodin, percocet, and fentanyl lollipops regularly by my doc for my issues. (im not going to go into more details about my ailments.

for the life of me i cannot find anything here to help.

so would the posters of daves please point me in a direction? do i need to go back to thailand and get something that will help? are there herbal remedies her (legal ones) that will help.

please advise as im desperate.

You'll need a prescription to get anything strong.

By 'messed up mouth,' I'm thinking you mean dental pain? If so, ibuprofen is still probably your best bet, as it's an anti-inflammatory and can reduce the agony of bacteria hammering away on your puffed up nerves. It is stopgap but I don't know what else to suggest. If your teeth are hurting you though of course the best thing to do is see a dentist ASAP. They're somewhat cheap here.

You might also consider finding a TCM (traditional chinese medicine) doctor and getting onto some herbals...I know the locals do a kind of 'bhang' tea here, basically industrial grade hemp they make into a tea, for arthritis. You'll need a Korean's help getting it, though, as it may be in a kind of legal grey area.

They may also have some other traditional painkillers I'm not aware of.

Careful with taking painkillers for chronic pain though, as you will (and no doubt you know this already) become immune to them eventually, and possibly addicted.

"messed up mouth" it is a dental issue...kind of.

in the accident i was in a broke one tooth, and some of my other teeth were damaged. they are slowly breaking apart. so i do need a dentist...and the only script ive gotten is the ibuprofen, codeine.

ill look into some of that other stuff.

and i may be heading towards seoul soon. ill try that clinic.

anyone know about doctors in japan? i know opiates are a real "no no" around these parts....but i have legit issues and can get scripts. i just dont know whats around.

Yes, you need a prescription to even get ibuprofen that is strong like the over the counter kind in western countries such as the US. The OTC stuff here is a big waste as it just seems to be placebo pills for them to rake a few extra won. If real ibuprofen like Advil (not Korean OTC pills) doesn't help pain, you probably have a very serious condition that needs the attention of a doctor.

Normally prescriptions only come in 9 doses for a 3 day 3X per day supply of medicine which is rediculously skimpy. I went for more ibuprofen and the doctor acted like I was a hypocondriac drug addict and said no. I am one unhappy camper with headaches and aching feet and am looking forward to vacation to go to Seoul and buy American ibuprofen.

We are talking about ibuprofen that actually kills a headache like you get in the states for like $5 a big bottle of 120 pills. I pretty much get the gist that Koreans accept grueling through pain and still going to work on top of it while I need my big bottle of ibuprofen for convenient use on foot aches and headaches. I understand some American ibuprofen is sold in Daegu and Seoul when you have time to get there.

You might try going to different doctors to get an adequate supply of meds. Since there is only one doctor in my local area and I don't have weekday time to travel elsewhere, I have not tried it yet.
