Anyone seen the new E6850 in Yongsan ? Awesome price and good performance compared to the quad cores. 1333Mhz FSB and awesome overclocking potential, up to 3.6 Ghz with air cooling
The Q6600 is the same price. These processors show up on Danawa but I wonder if they are available on the ground in Yongsan. |

Yes, pop over to Son-in plaza.
They are available. I have also found that chips there (inside at the shops and not outside on the street) are often 10-20k LOWER than what I find on Danawa.
As an example I got pricing on a Q6600 for about 260k.

I ususally go to the I-Park mall and the Technomart across from it. |

If you walk out of the yongsan station and look over the rail yard you will see the blue building (the terminal - perhaps what you refer to as the technomart?) and to the right of that you will see a big sign that says "GIGABYTE".
That is the son-in-plaza (the name is written across the building in Korean).
Go in the left door, walk to the end of the hall and turn right. You will find the place on your right hand side. It is pretty big. There are others in there as well that give close to wholesale pricing on retail purchases.
If you want the specific shop I will dig out their phone number for you when I get home. They don't do English very well but they speak "tech" just fine.

Ahhh, I don't care. My disposable income here is huge, I could get a 8800 Ultra if I wanted.
Maybe I can flog it on the buy and sell forum here. |
