Time to get pro-active.

Get a Korean friend to write up a petition for the building/complex manager saying that veggie trucks MUST be banned. Go door to door getting the neighbors to sign on. (If someone volunteers to cut off a finger in the cause, all the better.)

Submit. (Head bands optional.)

Good advice, ya-ta-boy, but a trifle prosaic. Maybe more fun would be starting an online hoax conspiracy theory, claiming that megaphone trucks are bad for stamina and suck the well-being right out of your manhood, and in combination with certain other common household appliances, can cause hypothermic asphyxiation. And death.

I got kicked out of med school for prescribing sugar-pill placebos to diabetics, so I can be one of your 'nine out of ten doctors agree--early morning megaphone adverts make your willy wobble. And maybe kill you.'

Ummm...maybe you are content to go through life with a record of handing out placebos, I endorse the idea of addressing the actual problem. Everyone knows that apt complex managers are next to god (well, they would be if s/he existed).

If you want to stop the veggie trucks, do what a good many other apt complexes have done--ban the darn things. If you live in an apt above a kimbap restaurant, I don't know what you can do. BUT if you live in a complex, you can organize a petition to have the bongo trucks banned. Plenty of places have done it.

Or you can just whine.

When those goddamn politico vans would stop in front of my apartment building, I used to bring one of my louder motorcycles and park it next to the van. Then I'd turn it on, crank the choke up and let the noise of the bike drown them out. They usually left after a couple minutes, and peace would be restored.

i say you get some help. work as a team.

first, get a couple pieces of thin plywood. drive a few nails through them and then put them underneath the guy's tires.

all the while, your friend will be "oh... yachae.. olmayo? uhn. yangpa?" just get them to ask about prices for like 4 minutes while youre playing james bond all over the guy's ride.

i'm sure the guy would be so stoked to get a customer that he wouldn't even notice you.

Petitions don't work when the truck's on public streets cruising along at 3 miles an hour, or worse yet, parked along the side of the road taking up half a lane of traffic (but that's another issue).

And I can't decide what's worse, the guy free talking with the mic, or the garbly reading of his stock on a 10 second loop.

Shoot, I'd just stealth behind him, ambush him (I have improved ambush, which means higher crit damage chance.) Then when he turns around, gouge him, run around him and backstab, use a few sinister strikes, then with my combo points, use evicerate on his a$$. I just hope that he doesn't have a soulstone.

Er, I suppose that I need to cut back on the World of Warcraft.

Good God, I'd forgotten those guys. Nothing against a hard-working farmer trying to earn his living but those trucks would try the patience of a saint. I once thought of laying these http://www.icon.co.za/~bavak/spikes.htm outside my place.

Good job. These guys, anywhere, should have their tires punctured and their occupants tarred and feathered. Grrr.

Damn, I do like the image of 'spastic, pajama wearing bat weilding crazy waegook' barreling down on Candidate Kim, Number 3.

You need to add one more option, in my case, the f*cker drives right below me, and I'm on the third floor.

I usually throw something at the car, such as used bottles, cans, trash,
and the occasional used up battery.
