I really don't have a good comeback or even a cogent defense to mount, so I will resort to name-calling. Nor do I even know who John McWhorter is but he must be a fool because I haven't read him.

BTW: McWhorter is black and a professor of linguistics at UC-Berkeley, hardly a rightwing bastion of academia.

Is this just like a rant because you're fed up? I mean, its politics, why do you sound so surprised and disturbed by this? I mean, they're POLITICIANS, no shit they're gonna pander to the masses.
I mean, you're obviously an intelligent guy, so you ought to be apathetic and disillusioned like the rest of us. And why do you care who wins? Everything's gonna be the same, no matter which of the main contenders gets in, except for maybe McCain.

a better point you should make is why is hilary wasting campaign time pandering to black americans? they already love her thanks to Bill, and obama ain't gonna change that.

Were it not for Obama's growing presence in the campaign, I don't think she would ballyhoo it for the reason you just stated.

What irks me is not that it happens but that Hillary and other liberals press the claim that they don't pander at all.

"I'm a bitter twisted rightwinger watching my incompetent leader's approval rating hit a Nixon low. I'll vent nonsense on Dave's about liberals 'pandering' to blacks even though Republicans have a long ugly history of treatment of black voters thus never getting the black vote. I'll make pompous and impotent demands to read some such book that seemingly panders to my prejudice if anyone has the nerve to point this out.

Better yet, it's another good excuse to indulge my Caps Lock fetish on Dave's."

More of your hysterical nonsense.

It's your sort who lie.

Like the Jessica Lynch 'rescue' number, bet that romantic fiction had poor Roo dabbing his crocodile tears with a hanky. Laughing

But there is an irony here:

No there isn't, well not outside your extremist little fanasty world anyway. I don't apologise for racism in Iran's regime or any other regime for that matter. Another one of your lame straw man tactics. Rolling Eyes

again you were claming a conspiracy. You call the the selection of Collin Powell and Condi Rice "window dressing" to "fool" African American voters.

Looks like you are claiming a conspiracy to me.As I said when you don't like the facts you claim a conspiracy .

Your kind are the biggest liars out there. and your business is selective criticism.

I never even commented about it.

Oh yes you do.

On one thread you complain about the rascism of the US and on another you defend Iran.

Typical.

Back Translation:

"I'm a bitter, cynical leftwinger who believes that Carter's foreign policy beats Bush's any day. I respond emotionally without an ounce of logic, which is the habit of those of my ilk. I don't know or conveniently ignore the fact that the Yellow Dog Democrats of the South did more to stymie civil rights than any Republican faction or the fact that the first Republican president freed the slaves. Regardless, I raise the race card the moment I recognize I don't have a counterargument. I won't recommend books to you that support my claim because my reading is limited to anime and Michael Moore drivel. I do not suffer from prejudice because only conservative whites are susceptible to this attitude as anyone with a PC education knows.

Better yet, it's another good excuse to indulge my anal retentive obsession about another poster's use of cap locks."
