Hey does anyone know much about those Seoul Riverside Parks, Hangyang Parks maybe). I wonder if there is a good internet site about them, but i'd also just like to find out as much as i can about them, i'm pretty far from them here in Anyang, but oh well.
Would also like to know if there is something similar in Anyang. |

I've travelled to Seoul many times but by bus and train, and about the city by subway and taxi mostly, so dunno about its riverside parks, but I'd be interested to know, especially if it's rejuvenating for those of us overwhelmed by the urban elements.
Jeonju has a very nice riverside park I recently discovered, lots of nice greenery, views, a real sense of natural growth.
Jinju, farther afield for you, has a decent riverside park, but it's a bit sterile, more a nice walk and bike path, with mountains and the fortress hill as scenic highlights.
And the small town I live in has a wonderful riverside park (in my signature pic) with a pine tree forest, tennis courts, full new basketball court and benches all along, with clean nice water to swim in on a hot day, a riverside park which I'm about to walk to, in a matter of minutes! |

Well, I'm across the street from Olympic park and a stone's throw from the riverside parks. Its great; I take my dogs for long walks starting in Olympic park, down to the Olympic stadium grounds then back again.
I can ride my bike from one end of Seoul to the other and never have to go on a road with cars. There are far too many people, but thats Korea.
Olympic park is groovy. loads of grass, trees, breeze, no noise, play ball with the dogs.
As for what I can tell you about them...well, they are parks, but more like a belt that runs from East to West along the South side of the Han. Really, from one end of Seoul to the other. There are swimming pools, cafes, stores, rest areas...all the trappings of a park. The bike/running/walking path is long, continuous and car-free and that too extends the full length of the city. It takes a long time from one end to the other, but its a great day out. |
