The last time I lived in an employer-provided apartment, it was filled with generations of junk from English teachers and missionaries. When I left, a friend did the packing for me and I ended up unpacking boxes that was been shipped to the US full of the previous occupants' crap.
I don't even ask friends if they want my stuff for free. I just give it to them on the way out the door. "Here's a bag of groceries. Love you. Bye!!" |

Most of the stuff being sold on here is way overpriced. Posters seem to not understand the concept of depreciation.
Typically someone selling a 2 yr old computer for 500.000W that they originally paid 700 for. Or a six month old ipod, for 30.000 less than the original price. |

| You guys have all somehow failed to mention the PARADE OF FREAKS who've tried to sell their old Xbox consoles here. They are all scum, and villainy. |

4 - people selling paperback books, please just give them to your friends!
Why not. I live in the boonies and it makes my life easier to buy books this way.
Anyway every penny counts. If somebody wants to sell their half used soap for2k then let them. If you don't want it don't buy it. You aren't being ripped off. |
Wouldnt it make your life even easier if someone gave you these books?? Just imagine giving away your tired old paperbacks to a poor inhabitant of the boonies. I say we breath life back into the boonies and start a "books for boonies" charity. If this thread gets to 5 pages i'll start another called books for boonies where an army of volunteers takes free literature to stranded foreigners.
As for the guy who said he would willingly pay 5000 won for vhs, perhaps we could all put some money together and drag this loser into the real world.
I get the point about re using and if you dont like it dont buy it. But is it not just as important for people not to decieve others with rediculously high prices. My concern was people buying items which they didnt know the price of and so with this being a second hand forum just assuming that the price would be a good one. I'm all for a bargain and buying second hand i'm not all for greedy money grabbing bleeders. |

It would make my life easier if people just gave me all kinds of stuff. But why should I think it's everyone's duty to make my life easier? It goes both ways. Some here seem to think that a person is cheap if they try to sell "smaller" items. Well, I think someone is cheap if they try to guilt other people into giving stuff away because they don't want to shell out a couple bucks for it. It's funny: "You're trying to sell me something for a few thousand won? You're cheap. Just give it to me for free!"
Take a look at the "post you debt" thread. If someone with 100,000 dollar debt doesn't feel like giving a bunch of stuff away but woud rather try to get some cach in exchange for it, I don't blame them one bit.
All these people who want something for nothing calling other people cheap is hilarious. |

| Hang on how am I cheap for giving my books away? I never asked for free books. I have given away lots of books after I read them, I pay full price for nice shiny new ones all the time. Lots of people have given me books which I havent asked for. And here I was thinking of starting a thread/charity for you out there. Well you stay out in the boonies with your paid for books whilst I and my league of booksharing buddies induldge in all forms of the written word. |

I didn't post to guilt anyone out of their goods. They can do what they like, as can I in saying how I feel about it.
BTW...you sound cheap. |

I think the other poster was the one suggesting the charity.
I believe I have purchased books from you and was very happy with them.
So far I have bought around 50 books or so for under 100k. 2000 a book. I would be too cheap to complain about that. |

No one is cheap for giving away things. But they shouldn't accuse others of being cheap for trying to sell things. And now you're talking about booksharing. I'm all for it. That's a win/win. I would participate in something like that gladly. Earlier, some here were telling others they should just give stuff away. That is not the same thing as sharing. I'm not saying people shouldn't give things away. But I don't see how anyone can judge other people for trying to sell their stuff. I believe in private property. A person has the right to do what he wishes with his belongings. |

A. If you want nothing, then you're simply butting into affairs that don't concern you. What do you care whether person X is trying to sell something or give it away when you have no interest in the item either way? Sounds like you just like feeling superior in your "generosity" or something. "Well, I have no interest in these transactions myself, but I prefer to give things away because I'm just that kind of person and those of you who aren't, well, you're going on my list." |
