I ran across this article in the Chosunilbo. It talks about Koreans who used Skype to find a language exchange but ended up with a perv wanting to talk dirty.

The picture is the best part of the whole story.

People in Korea (foreigner included, I think) sure love the word/concept of blacklist.

I'd never heard it used outside of a discussion about McCarthyism before coming here.

"One college student said, "It was good to make foreign friends easily with Skype. I improved my English proficiency by chatting with a French friend." But some strangers are sending her pornographic videos and making obscene jokes through the Skype messenger. Ive started to become prejudiced against their countries, she says..."

Come on - there's sleazy guys everywhere! A friend of mine had about a dozen crazy Japanese/Korean guys stalking her on LanguageExchange.com and I know she hasn't become "prejudiced" against their countries in general - although I don't think they offered to "donate" sperm Very Happy

LOL!! The other day, an Italian girl at my work was saying how she was disgusted that western guys are so into 2 on 1 threesomes, and how girls also play into that fantasy for attention. that was an interesting comment.

i think stalking and filth are different... there is a whole internet based site in the US that targets pedophiles who "groom" young underage girls to become sexual slaves on the internet.
