|
|
Hi,
Im off to Japan on This week for vacation and wondered if you need a visa.
I heard you dont as long as your visa (Mines an E-2) is multi-entry.
I have looked at my visa in my passport but cant find this classification.
Can anyone shed any light on this?
Thanks for any help! |

There should be the word "Entries" with either an S or an M beneath it. |

I have found it and it says S.
So I guess that means single entry.
What do I need to do to get a multi-entry?
I go to Japan on Thursday!
Any help very much appreciated |

You can get one at the airport as you're leaving, that's the easiest way. But, if you're not gonna be at the airport anytime between6:30am 10:00pm seven days a week than you'd better get one from the local immigration office. When you apply for your new visa in Japan, specify that you want a "M" visa, I believe there's a place to do so on the application. If you can't find one just tell them and have them make a note of it when you submit your visa application. Check that they indeed gave you a "M" when you finally receive your visa stamp.

Are you flying out of Incheon? It's really easy to get one from there before your flight. Do a search on here, it's been discussed already. |

Im going from Busan by ferry. I am going for 6 days vacation, not a visa run.
I may have to go to a local imm office before I go. But would prefer to do it at Busan port. Does anyone know about this. |

Just an update:
I traveled by ferry from Busan to Fukuoka on vacation.
My ferry sailed at 8am, before the imm office at the port opened BUT I was able to get a re-entry permit at the passport check point just before going into the departures lounge.. This was free to me and I got a 30 day re-entry stamp in my (British) passport.
Hope this helps anyone in a similar situation. |

This sounds totally suspicious. Are you sure they didn't cancel you visa? It should have cost you about 30,000 won. You might want to call immi and double check they didn't f**k you over there. Did they take your ARC when you left? |

-Americans get multi-entry visas for their 1st year. If they EXTEND they have to apply and pay for a re-entry permit.
-Brits have to apply for a re-entry permit but it is free.
-The rest of us pay 30k for a single re-entry and 50k for a multiple. |
