|
|
Heading to Sabang in a few weeks....was there a few years ago, but took a 'tour bus' to Batangas from the hotel in Manila i stayed at over night.
This year will be arriving in Manila around noon. Its going to be cutting it tight, but I want to get to Batangas to catch a boat to Sabang before the last one leaves (around 4:30 i think).
Anyways, My question is.....Where do I head from the airport to catch the bus to Batangas? I've read that "There are regular buses from the station at the corner of Buendia and Taft for 170 pesos". Just hop in a taxi and tell them I want to go here???
Any other suggestions??
Cheers. |

That's what I did. If you take a taxi, though, make sure you have small bills and/or change with you because you won't get change from the taxi driver.
Also, I don't know if I was unlucky, but we had a very bad bus, no air con, squeezed in like anchovies, had a mechanical problem at some point so we missed the last boat for that day... I would recommend that you go the same way you did the first time if you can. Take the local bus as a last resort solution or even better, spend your first night in Manila. |

I would second the above...I took the bus from Swagman to Batangas, but got stuck on the public bus on the way back...not recommended....it was a VERY long, uncomfortable trip, with many stops. |

Yeah.....I just wanted to try to avoid staying in Manila if at all possible. Does anyone know how far that intersection (Buendia and Taft) is from the airport??
Just trying to figure if its even possible to catch the last boat.... |

If I gotta spend $40 or whatever on a room in Manila....I might just as well grab a taxi to Batangas. Can't be more than that!??! Any ideas here?? |

Batangas bus terminal from the airport is very close take a cab it'll cost you only about $3...Don't take a risk of taking a cab from the airport to Batangas.
Where in Batangas are you heading? Expect travel time of at least 3 hours by bus. |

I am going to the ferry terminal. I need to catch the boat to Sabang, Puerto Galera. Yeah, I know.....it took around 2 1/2 hours last time I went. The problem is I dont want to spend a night in Manila, nor does my girl friend.
We are arriving at 11:50am. I figure we could maybe get to the bus terminal by 1:00. Three hours on the bus will put us at around 4:00pm...as long as it doesn't break down. Then the last boat is around 4:30....but filipino time, so plus or minus an hour.
If I am going to spend $40+ on a hotel for the night, I'm thinking I may just as well grab a taxi. Air conditioned, room for me to sit down, etc.
Any ideas how much it will costs?? Has anyone done it? |

$40 (now that the rate is $1=P44) is not enough to spend one night in Manila..
my suggestion is get a taxi from the airport to go to Batangas, make sure to pay fare on the operator( at the airport) not on the driver, then get a receipt with plate number written on it. it will take less than two hours non stop driving.
Good Luck |
