Livingstone's looks quite pricey (over $55 U.S., on their website).

I wouldn't suggest staying in a medium priced hotel that permitted prostitutes in the bar. No slam on prostitutes- we all have to make a living- but it wouldn't feel so comfortable and safe, to me.

Unless that is what you are looking for. . . Cool

its actually safe... and the hotel is great... very family-like environment... as in... it's like being with family... well, more like friends. very relaxed atmosphere.

don't worry about the girls... the hotel owner is the pimp so they wont mess with guests.

Now that is reassuring. Confused

(Seriously, from the web site it looks like a cool place, but a little pricey for what the OP seems to be looking for. But I may check it out. )

it might cost a teeny bit more -- but it's worth it for the very relaxed, friendly, home-like environment -- and they can pretty much tell you anything you need to know about bangkok... where to get cheap suits, good eating places, even a special massage or whatever.

they had some sort of bikini contest when i was there, too.
