...that their religion is based on a mistranslation!!!

I was outside a GS25 when a group of them came up to me and my friends. Chilling, and drinking, I figured this would just be some missionaries I could send on their way. But oh no!!! They were from MOTHER. I was intrigued.

After talking/arguing with one of them for about 45 minutes, trying to figure out the origin of their religion, one of the last lines of the bible she showed me was this--

"And the Spirit and the bride say, �Come!� And let the one who hears say: �Come!� And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wants it take the water of life free of charge."

So, they've taken the word "bride" to mean that there is a female component to god, and the female is this Ajumma that they worship.

Clearly though, "she" is the city of New Jerusalem. They've based their religion on the mistranslation of the fact that, in English, we commonly refer to objects in the female gender.

Damn.

Yeah, when I pointed that out, she was pretty pissed. Tried to show me other stuff, but my friends wanted them to go away. Wish I could have destroyed her illusions a little more

to be fair, worshipping 'the mother' is probably less daft than worshipping 'Jerusalem' [/hippy]

It's no more absurd that worshipping some dead Jewish guy.
