Hello.. I got my visa at the embassy in Bangkok. It is an E-2 and has the letter 'M' in the visa type box. Does this mean its an mutiple entry visa? ANd if so do I still need the re-entry paper from immigration?

M= Multiple....

I do believe you are good to go, or rather come here without additional paperwork. But I could be wrong....

Yeah I figured M= Multiple..

So One cat has told me its all good and I can come and go as many times as I want. Another has told me I couldnt have gotten a multiple in bangkok.. so.. if it is multiple, I just go out and come back in with no paper or anything to do with my ARC card?

You must be American. (because you got a multi-entry E2).

You are good to come and go during your 1st year. If you extend your visa you will have to get a re-entry permit when you get your extension.

Yes i am an american. It is my first E2 visa.. and It is a Multiple entry visa.. so I guess I dont need any extra papers? Just go out and come back with no problems? I would hate to void my visa and or contract. Should I even worry about it? Or just cruise... Anybody got any experience with that?

Like I said. You are good to come and go during your first year.

If you get an EXTENSION (stay longer than 1 year) you will need to get a re-entry permit for the extended period.

Cruise and have fun. No worries.

I also got my multipel entry E-2 visa from Bangkok. This was about 3 years ago. Yes, the first year you can come an go without needing a reentry permit.
Hate to scare you, but I did have trouble with that visa because not many immigration workers at the airport had seen one (3 years ago). When i was leaving the airline check-in girl told me I needed a reentry permit (course, what does she know), so I had to go to the Immigration office near the check-in counters. They wrote me a note that i don't need the re-entry. Gave the check-in girl that note (mistake, needed it again later). Then at immigration the guy got sharp with me; "you want to come back or not" told me I must have a re-entry permit and sent me to the office. The office told me I don't need it and sent me on. The first immigration guy chased me to the gate and brought me back to the office and told them to force me to get one. They seemed sure that a One Year multiple entry visa is only good for one entry in the first three months (strange, but that's what they insisted). I was half way through buying a re-entry, when i found out the cost, so changed my mind. I asked them to please call the lady in the front immigration office (the only one who had seen this multiple entry E-2) and she explained to them. Anyway sorry to be confusing, but that is life in Korea with immigration.
Just keep in mind that the Immigration front office- near the check-in counters knows what is up better than the little office right by the immigration check-point.
