Anyone know if its possible to get 6 month contracts, because i started travelling on a 12 month RTW flight ticket and i want to work in korea but i still have more countries I would like to see plus i paid for the ticket too so i'd rather not see the money goto waste. Also do you think it would be unethical to take up a job knowing you will night quit after 6/7 months and is this likely to incur any signicant penalty or effect future positions etc. as i guess that is one option or forgo my future flights. I know you might say why don't u just finish you RTW ticket but i was supposed to goto NZ in 10 days and i'd i have changed my mind since i started travelling, I don't fancy going there in winter so i posponed my flight until march yesterday. Any thaughts welcome, thanks |

If you are here, legally qualified and have your documentation it is usually not a problem to find a legit 6 month contract.
If you expect a flight here or flight reimbursement you will probably be out of luck. You should be able to negotiate a flight out on a 6 month contract.
If you are not qualified or do not have your documents you will probably still be able to find a hakwon who would be willing to hire in illegal worker but you do face certain risks including but not limited to:
not being paid and no legal recourse
no medical, no pension (can't get an ARC)
possibly very soon there will be no banking privilages available to you
Only 90 day stays without a visa run (unless you are a Canuk/6 month or Yankee/30 day stamps respectively)
AND
fines, detention and deportation if caught. |
